I tried quitting smoking weed about two months ago, and actually did very well going a month smoke free. But once I gave in one time it was like all my work no longer mattered and in about a week or two I was smoking everyday again. I'm in university and it is affecting my school work but my addiction is overpowering. I know what has to be done, and I've come back to DS to try to find the extra motivation that I need.

I'm beginning on Nov 1st, please put me in your thoughts.

" Welcome back. Don't ever quit quitting!!
You said yourself, you know what to do. Now DO it!! You've set a date to quit, which is a good step. It indicates you have a plan. What other measures do you plan on taking to make this different from last time?

Fail to plan = Plan to fail. "

" I hope you get as much information as you can from others who can support you in your path.

I like using marijuana anonymous. The 12th step enables us to stick around the support groups long enough for when newcomers come in.

What happens to people here who get better and stop coming? Who is going to help the new person with support and sharing how we did it? "

" Thanks guys for the support!

I do have a plan Borgnine, and I agree it is a necessary step. I've made a list of commitments to try to make some solid changes to the way I'm living right now so this time around hopefully I will find more success. The hard part is getting a few days in and beginning to question. The addiction is 95% in my head...

I'm feeling good though, ready for this change "

" I do hope you are open to receiving counseling. Perhaps you are already in counseling. You don't have to do it alone and even though you seem strong and disciplined when you want to be, quitting is easier said than done. I hope you will reach out unabashedly for support. I will pray for you. "
