Advice:
State of mind needed to say NO to the lovely green

I have found that I can rationalize my smoking weed and cigarretes in a million different ways. Even if I do not want to smoke, I do. This love hate relationship has got to end.
State of mind and discipline, I figure are the two things that will get me thru this so that I can be clean, clean, clean. Two factors I still need a lot of work on. I have fantasizes of what I would be like if totally smoke free. Two years ago I went thru a total clean out. for 40 days. Man, I was impressed with the woman I found myself to be. However, day 41, all my friends at the door, \"You can smoke pot now!\" and we went into the woods for the great event.
I want to return to that woman I got a glimpse off, wow, what a marvelous creature I found.
Any advice or suggestions?

" Good luck in your battle. I wonder what I'd be like pot free. I just get so antsy and wound up over anything so that i am able to rationalize myself into smoking. My parayers and support is all I have to offer. "

" I tend to do the same thing, rationalize. Then when you do smoke the guilt is awful. several years ago I cleaned up my act when I moved across country and had no connections. I had forgotten about my quick wit and sense of humor. Then of course I must of sent out the pot head vibe and found new connections and her I sit! Lately when I have the urge I just try and talk myself out of it and find something else to keep my mind occupied. Good luck to you! "

" I know sober potheads in marijuana anonymous, who still attend meetings, some for over two decades of clean time, and life does get better when we change our way of life, and I think for me the 12 steps and accountability and fellowship and experience, strength and hope I get at meetings makes all the difference.

www.marijuana-anonymous.org if you have a desire to quit using marijuana, you are not alone! It is growing around the world, each year more and more meetings in further and further places are happening, and the literature is being translated into other languages (check out the book at the website, Life with hope).

I'm 38 and haven't smoked pot or drank in over 4 years. I had to find people in MA to help me since my using friends did not share my "desire" to quit.

There are lots of 12 step programs "
