" I know it can be soo hard to find other things to do, especially when there's that love for the feeling of getting high. I'm there too, trying to get past it. I also smoke cigarettes and am not giving that up yet, for now I can afford that vice. Instead of smoking weed, maybe you could hang out with some friends who aren't into that...or go shopping with the money you'll have instead of spending it on drugs...you could still spend less than a hundred a week and save up for something you really like. I know many people, when giving up one addiction go for another, and I guess if I had to give up weed I would drink lots and lots and LOTS of coffee instead, and smoke lots of cigs. I wouldn't take up drinking instead though, that will just keep the problems or make more there. After a while I've heard it gets easier to not crave the feeling, doing other things for a while will probably be really hard, but I've heard it gets easier. Good luck to you! "

" Hey, Lost--welcome!!

I would suggest trolling some earlier threads and seeing what you can get from those, then if you have a SPECIFIC question, feel free to ask.....Your question is so wide-ranging that it's hard to answer in a succinct fashion. "

" You will hav2 tuff it out, try to keep yourself as busy as you can, If you keep smoking the buzz will go one day and you will be smoking just like a ciggie, no buzz and as you say $$$$ is alot and it will add up and get more just for that same buzz but it's gone. It will be HARD but YOU will be better off in the end by stopping. All I can say is keep busy find things you can do to take your mind off (hardest) but it can be done. GOOD luck. "

" I tried to quit many times. I'm on week two of no weed. I had to start taking Wellbutrin in order to quit.

I realized that I suffer from anxiety and was self-medicating. I decided to replace the weed with something healthier for my body and so far it's been the only thing that has worked for me. Wellbutrin is often prescribed for those wanting to quit cigarettes. It's working for the weed in my case.

The longer you smoke it, the harder it is to quit. I started as an occasional user and then ended up smoking daily. All day long. I really had no control over it anymore.

Good luck. Great question! "
