I was diagnosed with Wed MD about a month ago and had my first injection a couple of weeks ago. I was told it takes a while before you can expect improvement. I've been keeping a daily log and testing my vision with the grid chart the Doc. have me.
Things are still looking smaller in the affected eye and there is still a green spot and straight lines are wavy in my central vision but I think it is getting better. I can read fairly small print. It's still wavy but it is clear enough to read.
I hope I'm not fooling myself. From what the Nurse said it usually takes several injections before you begin to have noticable changes. Anyone have experence with this?

" I've had 6 injections of Avastin in the past year. It does take awhile to see any improvement after an injection; but, I have consistently seen improvement with each injection. "

" hello beta09,

My husband had his first shot of Avastin about 1 month ago. It was on Thursday of just this past week that he woke up and guess what? He can NOW READ!

To me, this is a miracle! We've both been praying that he would get better very soon as his other eye has been gone for several years now due to wet AMD (blind - sealed off by surgery to stop the bleeding).

Apparently this is different for everyone and his vision got a lot worse after the shot and we feared the worst!

I hope you see (literally!) results soon! "

" I went in for testing and my second injecton this morning. The Dr. said that there was signifant improvement, more than they usually see with only one injection. He showed me the "pictures" from the test and the fluid bubble had reduced quite a lot. He said there was still a little fluid but things looked really good. He also said that they should be able to get all the fluid out but that usually the layers where the fluid were would never flatten out perfectly so to expect to live with some distortion. I tested 20/25 in the affected eye and lines of print are still wavey but readable. The color has turned from a medium green to a pale green. There was a lot less discomfort with the second shot. It was over before I knew he had done it. "

" It's been almost two weeks since my second shot. I can't tell much difference in in the wavy lines in my central vision but the color has impoved.
I feel much more hopeful since my first diagnoses. I'm grateful that the vision in the other eye is excellent. "

" I took my husband for the 2nd shot about a week ago. The ophthalmologist said that his eyesight had improved significantly! :)

He is able to read books with print as small as 10 pt. type. I am so glad for him.

This is a miracle IMO!

I hope you get results like he has been lucky enough to experience!

He only has the sight left in one eye. The other eye got wiped out by wet AMD about 7 years ago and it was so fast that he didn't know it had occurred.

Best of luck to you & thanks for posting. "

" I had my first shot four weeks ago and am scheduled for my second this week. I noticed a marked improvement in colors and clarity after the shot. I'm hoping the second will do the same.
I wish you success in your treatment and will pray for your improvement. "
