Has anyone tried antioxidant therapy for dry MD? My doctor has told me to take Eye-Caps MV (multivitamin), but the high dosage of Vitamin E is frightening, since recent research has shown that it can lead to heart problems.

" My Retinologist had me taking Preservision for my macular wet spots, this is in addition to treatment. Antioxidents appear to help. "

" Apparently, some doctors recommend Preservision and others recommend multivitamin Eye-Caps, which are more expensive because you take four a day instead of two. On the other hand, you don't need to take any other vitamins with them. The formulas look very similar. Has anyone experienced any difference in their effects? "

" I just read an article in the New York Times about recent research that has shown that the health benefits of exercise are cancelled when you take larga doses of antioxidants (C and E). Since antioxidant therapy is the only treatment for MD, does that mean we have to choose between our eyes and the rest of our body? Does anyone know anything about this? "

" I get a shot in the eyeball of Avastin every 6 weeks. I have had 4 shots so far. When first dionosed,I couldn't see anything straight ahead with my right eye. Now ,I can see good enough to read the bigger words on TV. I also take the green box of I-caps and 18mg of Lutin every day. I have the Wet M.D. "
