" Hi Brenda,
Ya I take MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) It is supposed to be beneficial for reducing chronic pain.....joint inflamation.....arthritis.....allergies....SLE....mood elevation....among many other disorders......I have been taking this & Glucosamine Sulfate Complex for nearly a year now & have found it to be somewhat helpful.....it does reduce inflammation......I don't have side effects form it......there are no known interactions with foods or other drugs......but it can cause GI issues in some people.......start with a low dose or half a pill for a couple weeks then increase that to a full daily dose..... 1000mg daily with meals.....I hope that this info helps......

" Hi Brenda,
I take 3000 mg MSM a day. Have been for the past 3 years, at least. Never had any problems, but everybody is different so you have to find the dose that is gonna work for you. I also take turmeric powder, it's Indian spice... 1/2 tsp 2 a day and fish oil.. they are great anti-inflammatory. I notice in your profile you use ibuprofen often...you gonna ruin your stomach's lining and kill the beneficial bacteria in your guts. You might want to add probiotic (beneficial bacteria) to your diet either with yogurt or in supplements form. Just some food for thoughts...

" Hi Donna,
My MSM is a capsule from TriMedica. I put 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder in my mouth and wash it down with water. You'll get used to the taste. One more use for it: if you ever have a sore throat, mix it with honey and take a tablespoon, letting it trickle down your throat.
Make sure you don't drink anything for at least 20 min. Works like a charm!
Good night! Natasha "

" Nat,
Thanks for the tip on the turmeric powder!!!
I only take 1000mg of MSM......1X/day......did you start taking 3000mg/day or did you start at a lower doseage?? I know that it has helped me a fair bit but I am thinking now that maybe I should increase mine.......a higher level might just help a bit more "

" I just read about it myself. Along with L-glutamine and GLA, there are a lot of homeopathic supplements that are studied to have great effects on inflammation and the inflammatory process. I'm going to start it myself. "
