Hi Everyone,
I am 30 weeks pregnant and last night when I got out of the shower a felt a pain in my foot near my pinky toe. I can not see it but I can fell a split in in between my toes and under the pinky toe. My feet have been very swollen for the last 3 weeks. I have not been able to get the swelling down. So I do not know if the split came from the swelling or what. Now I do not know what to do. It doesn't feel like cellulitis yet but it does hurt. I have been putting neosporon and peroxide on it daily. Should I go to the doctor and which doctor should I go to, ( my OBGYN, or my lymphedema doctor). I do not want it to get infected. How is this going to affect my unborn baby if I do get cellulitis. I am really worried. I dont know what to do. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Tracey Posted on 11/04/09, 11:11 am |

i'm not a regular contributor nor a doctor but i do have lymphedema and am working on my own issues. first of all, congrats on the new life inside you. without hesitation, you should call both doctors before going in to see what they think and let them know yoy are talking to both and maybe togethers. additionally, do you use salt or are you craving saltier things than you usually eat? are you sleeping less or --i think this is a major thing--stressed out about anything, and in your case, the extra stess on your body and the hormonal changes of just being pregnant. remember salt is in a lot of things as well as msg.
hope you're feeling better soon and take care. this disease has so many complexities. just don't be scared. you're doing something about it and that's such a plus. i ignored all my symptoms or blamed them on other things. it's so great that you're facing this and have your doctors involved. best wishes to you and your family.

sorry. i should have said that maybe, together, they can figure out what to do or where to start first but i think you should discuss with both of them from the start.
hope that makes more sense than the sentence printed above. once again, sorry take care
