Anyone else out there had to quit abx due to a low white blood count? I'm concerned that my sx will be coming right back, as we were not done with treatment.

" Hi hun,

I had to stop for a few weeks, mid Tx and my LLMD was not worried about it at all. That being said...post your question to my retired LLMD at

" I've had quite a few "antibiotic holidays" as my docotor puts it for various resons. one thing that happens when you are on antibiotic hliday is that your liver and kidneys and gut lining and all get to heal from the pressure of the antibiotics so you will get strength. also tha little buggers who had gone into hiding will come out again so you may get s return of some symptoms but when you start again -wham you'll hit those suckers hard and actually kill more of them. Rest from antibiotics is a very helpful and healing thing not a setback. "

" Though I came off of IV antibiotics prematurely due to insurance problems, my tummy is VERY thankful. I am still on orals, but it's obviously not as much. At least you can go back on them when it's safer. Better safe than sorry! that's why beating Lyme is so tough. We have to be patient. (I am also reminding myself about the patience part, I know it's extremely hard.)

**HUGS** "

" Thanks for the info and support. It's good to know that when I am able to return to the abx that I will kill off even more of these things. So maybe it isn't the setback I thought it was that helps with perspective. I continue to have sx, especially hip and muscle pain, and fatigue.
I just want off this Lyme ride, you know? Thanks and hugs to all of you. "
