Hi all
I am brand new to this forum. My life partner has both Lyme disease and bartonellosis, and has suffered for more than two years. I have put together a Lyme/bartonellosis website in order to educate our friends and family about her condition. If you are interested it is located at http://www.benbrew.com/lb/lb.html . I welcome all suggestions and criticisms. Ben Severna Park, Maryland Posted on 10/30/09, 12:10 pm |

Looks fantastic! I think it's wonderful that you did this.
I'm new to this Lyme thing and trying to explain to my boyfriend how Lyme can cause psychiatric or neurological issues has been a challenge. Oh, and also correcting assumptions that you take a quick course of antibiotics and poof! all better. I wish! Maybe I'll show my friends/family your website. Thanks! I'm in the process of looking for a Lyme literate psychiatrist in CT in case anyone has any suggestions feel free to PM me! Thanks again, Ben MJ

My girlfriend says that the psychiatric problems have been the worst part - much worse than the physical pains. It has certainly been a strain on her relationship with both me and her daughter. She gets angry easily and snaps at us. I have walked out on her a few times. Many marriages have been ruined by this disease. It is a real test for both people to have to go through this. The best advice I can give on this matter is to tell your boyfriend that your aberrant behavior is not you, it's the Lyme, and you won't be this way forever. If you cannot find a good doc in CT, then it will be worth your while to come down to MD to see Dr. Fishman or Mozayeni. Ben

Thank you for this! Absolutely excellent, well-written, great citations, and I love the extra references at the end. And no click-through ads to affiliate programs (I see these and my faith in the author goes right out the window).
If it were a crummy day I'd be busy all afternoon following your leads! But that will have to wait, it's beautiful here today...hope you're having a good day as well, -FM -fm

Ben,
Good job on the website! Great idea. I have a question. I have talked to Dr. Fishman (who uses long term low dose abx), but am unfamiliar with Dr. Mazayeni. Can you tell me where he/she is located in MD? I am in central VA and currently travel to DC.. to my LLMD. Thanks

Dr. Mozayeni is in the same practice with Dr. Fishman. Same office, same phone number.

Hi, I go 3 hours to my literate and it's worth it because they understand that, this Disease is very real and debilitating. It destroys us on the inside like a wrecking machine my brain is toast after 9 years fighting this thing.
All we can do is trying to win and take our meds and drink a lot of liquids to flush out the toxins ect. i take a natural regiment as well to try and boost up my immune system.

love the sight. So thourough but not over ridden in language that is over my head. I have not been able to find the research on the deer fly, do you recall your source for that. My daughter and I are convinced that is how we got it.
if you ever wanted to add ehrlichiosis or babesia I'd love to see it. those are the other infections I have but am not very good at explaining it to others.

FYI - this is Traci, the girlfriend Ben has posted about. Thank you, Ben, and I love you. I am sorry I have been so difficult, but as you mentioned to MJ, it is the Lyme/Bartonella not me.
MJ - I recently asked my LLMD for a referral to a LLPhD and he gave me one. I haven't see him yet but perhaps you can ask your LLMD for a referral to someone in your area. iwillover - Dr. Mozayeni is not with same practice as Fishman. They are in the same office but Mozayeni is separate. Ben wasn't wrong - we only recently discovered this. Try 240-221-0000. Traci
