My Dad wants me to go to the Mayo clinic. When he asks his dctor friends they say lyme is not that big of a deal. he is trying to understand chronic lyme (And ehrlichia and babesia) but feels 2.5 years of being sick is too long and the doctors must be missing something. I am seeing a top of the ;line LLMD right now. But I am frustrated also. so sometimes his offer to pay for my bills at Mayo not picked up by the insurance company sound very tempting then I think what if Mayo is like most ID's and its a huge waste of time and effort.

A friend of mine called her DR. friend at the Mayo clinic in FLA And he flat out told her that Lyme does not exist!!!! I was furious.I was not going to spend money and see someone who denies what is making me so sick.

You know, what I have realized is this is another awful situation of walking in one's shoes. I would love to find a LLMD who has Lyme's. That's the one you want to go to. I liken this to men who think they know how bad cramps feel or childbirth. People have no idea and can't unless they go through it. That is why they (the doctors) etc. are so complacent and aloof about it. I had to freak out at my doctor to get her to help me.
So, you are screwed before you finally find out and not in much better shape after.
