Hear we go again, the pain or sore spots are beginning to settle and as always I begin to get a metalic (or somthing) tast in my mouth and my body smells of the same and more so when I sweat.
I'm beginning to think it may be the toxins, To often the same to be phantom ? If it sounds the same to others with lyme it may very well be toxins, otherwise just more phantoms. Posted on 07/04/09, 12:07 am |

I get sores in my mouth that come and go and sore throats alot. I can't say that I have ever had a bad taste though.
I am sure that isn;t very pleasant. Have you asked your doctor about it? I hope you findout what it is. Good luck.

Hi, the most common answers I found for the taste were antibiiotics, diabetes, and ketosis...I'm going to take a guess and go with abx ;-) slrows's sore throats and spots could be related to thrush, which again is a side-effect of the abx.
Here's a link about weird tastes/smells and their causes; http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/iht... and here's a link to thrush from another post http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/t... someone take this google thing away from me.

Plaquenil and Biaxin have given me a horrible taste in my mouth. Metallic is what most ppl say about biaxin, but for me the plaquenil is the worst... tastes like tonic water b/c of the quinine. I also get sores that come and go, and sore throats. I get less sores now that I am taking vitamin B's. I think I read that lyme taps our vitamin B resources, so that could have accounted for my sores. Lyme causes other body systems to do weird things... sometimes you can treat them w/supplements. Even though they are lyme related deficiencies at times, I don't want to wait until the tx is over to see if they improved. If there is a deficiency it can often be treated. I guess the moral to this long rambling reply is.... ask your Dr about Vitamin B supplements..... when I'm tired I ramble, and I'm always tired!~!!!! I hope you feel better soon....
