OK, I must be a little behind in my reading....Just came across this letter, from the Lyme Disease Foundation, to the CDC, in support of a group of Epidemiologists' broadening of their definition of lyme disease, from 2 years ago:

Whoops-
Nothing is simple. Controversy seems to surround everything involved with lyme! The new definition adopted by the CSTE (group of edpidemiologists), referenced in my post above, was strongly opposed by many lyme activists. Although it broadened the definition of lyme, it requires more rigid documentation- such as, an EM rash is not enough to call it lyme disease. The saga continues....

You may already know this but,ILADS is demanding retraction IDA & CDC for the 4 wk protocol, A new panel has been selected for a complete investigation and retract the old 4wk pro and that long term ABX is harmful. this will take place July 30th 09. I found this info on the ILADS site.I hope it changes for the IDA, it will help us with our Insurance, and my workcomp claim if my medation carries beyond July 20th 09. I think it will be a big help for all lymies, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. David
