Hi,

I have been taking Doxycycline at 300mg per day for months now.

I now find that when I take it, it feels like my eyes are burning!

Does anyone else get this symptom??

Its just that I am getting worried about damaging my vision now

Thanks

Dave

" Have you reported that to your doc? If not you need to it could be a sx of toxicity. I will try to remember to look it up at work today for you. But don't hesitate to call your doc today if you can. "

" When I was on the doxy I had blurred vision from time to time but never the burning you have mentioned. I have not heard this ever as being a side affect of this drug. Please call your doctor to see what he thinks. I know the doxy does strange things to all of us but have never seen anyone mention this before. Let us know what your doctor says. In the mean time I will pray for you to get well. Take care & God Bless "

" A couple summers ago, I was on lipitor for high choloestrol. I had burning, aching feelings in my eyes, and stopped taking lipitor.

I have heard the medicines can do that, but I also remember reading the eye pain can be a symptom of Lyme.

I never called my dr (dumb...) about my eye pain, since it went away. So I've wondered if it was the lipitor or Lyme that caused it. But when I mentioned that to my LLMD this week, she was very interested in hearing about it. Not sure what that meant, or if this is relevant at all :-)

Guess it's going to be one of those rambling on and on days for me - LOL.

Hope your eyes feel better, it's painful when it hurts when you open your eyes OR when you close them.... "

" my lyme first presented in the eye. I was dx with glacoma, then iritisis (which is imflammation of the space between the lens and cornea. My eye hurt and burned and were red like if I had contracted pink eye. Left eye was worse but it happened in both. this passed on its owe without antibiotic after about 2 weeks (not Dx with Lyme at that point). My vision also decreased by 50% and I was very light sensitive.

I have read that late stage chronic Lyme is so hard to Kill because it hides in the eye. "

" Hi everyone, thanks for your comments.
I have decided to come off the Doxy for a couple of weeks to see if my eye site improves.
Its a calculated risk as my lyme might get worse, but I am prepared to
take the risk.
Hugs to you all
thanks
Dave:) "
