In Feb when I started breaking out on my arms,( the Drs think it is lupus) I also started breaking out in hives and found out I can't eat wheat or gluten. The list keeps growing until I am afraid to eat anything.
I think I am much more tired since I have been on Plaquenil. The skin on my legs have been sore for some time.
My aching is so much worse lately.
I have really been getting depressed. I don't get to do much of anything anymore. You all know how that is, don't you.
Big hugs to everyone.
Lyndi

" Hi Lyndi,
I must have missed this post and noticed that no one responded to it. I hope you are feeling better. I also have celiac disease which means I cannot eat anything with gluten in it either. It can be difficult to find things to eat when your limited. It does get easier once you figure out what you can and cant eat. It use to take me 2 hours to do my shopping since I had to read all the ingredients in anything I was interested in buying. Alot of times people with auto immune problems have food intolerances. Your not alone. And, it can be depressing to not be able to eat things that you like/enjoy. If your depression continues you may want to try a mild anti-depression med. Sometimes this can make a huge difference in the way we feel emotionally. I will be on mine forever. Auto-immune issues themselves can cause brain chemical imbalances so its possible the depression is not anything you can control on your own.

Hope your feeling better these days. "

" Thank you for your reply, luvmvan. I just had a colonocopy and endicopy and found out I don't have celiac disease, which surprised me. I thought I would try eating regular food again, since I didn't have celiac, oh was that a mistake. My acid reflux and nausea is worse again.....lesson learned.
I am glad I went in though. I had three polyps and one was premalignant. Now, I believe that they are a good thing...
There are a lot of things we can't eat, but thank goodness there are still quite a few we can. As of today, I am on my gluten free diet again. It just isn't worth it, to eat that other stuff.
I have been on antidepressants for years and years and can't do without them. However, I have had a lot going on in my life and it has gotten the best of me. I haven't been this nervous for a long time and have anxiety, which I haven't had to deal with for quite some time. Anyway, I am feeling better and life looks rosier today!
Big hugs!
Lyndi "

" Hey Lyndi,
Glad to read you are feeling better. I have IBS-D and have been taking Align for a while. It doesn't work all the time but I can tell a difference.
I know its easy to get depressed with too many things going on. I hope you will feel better and everything will always be "rosy" for you.
I have tumid lupus which is confined to the skin so I know all about the rashes and itching. I've been on plaquenil for about 5 years (can't believe its been that long...wow) and use a topical cream when the itching is really bad. Feeling great today!!!
Hugs and blessings to you.........
Virginia
I would love to have you for a friend. "

So sorry you are having such a hard time...and I understand what you are going thru. I too have stomach issues. But I think with Lupus there is probably a lot of people that do. They told me I had IBS some years ago...then they changed it to Crohns...but I also have autoimmune biliary disease. I have found that I can not eat protein well...causes major pain. If I eat meat then my stomach hurts and then everything goes thru to fast..LOL!!! Not the best thing when I eat out. I take enzymes when i eat to help with digestion and watch everything I put in my mouth. I have eaten organic for years...the only way to go. Most of my protein comes from dairy. But for some people dairy makes their stomach issues worse. So keep up with your diet and you know your body better than the doc's. As mine told me...if you are better eating a vegeie diet...than good!! Jerk!!

" Hi friends, haven't been on here in a couple of days. It snowed here, in Central Oregon today.....first snow of the season. I don't know about you, but the Winter weather plays havic with my aches and pains.
I haven't heard anything on my lupus test. I go back to the dermetologist dec. 8th. I wish somebody could figure out what all of this is, but I think it is a combination of autoimmune diseases. ????????? Anyway a lot of the symptoms can be the same as others...I am so tired of doctoring.
I felt good when I went to town yesterday and got very sick in the health food store and just made it in time to regirgitate in their restroom. I was so embarressed!! My acid reflux has been horrible for two days now, Finally broke down and went to the dr. today and she gave me a new medication for reflux and it is actually helping me.
I feel so badly for all of you, all the suffering that you do, God be with you all. Sometimes it would be easy to give up, but we can't, there will be a better day coming for all of us.
I have been on other support groups and this is the best one I have found.
Thank you my friends.
BIG HUGS!!!!
Lynda "
