I am planning to travel to Brazil in the next 2 months to visit my fiance. It is recommended that I get vaccinated for Malaria, Hep A and Yellow fever. Has anyone received these and what has your experience been? Has anyone been told not to get these vaccines?

Hi,
If you are on immuno suppressants you want to make sure that it is safe for you to get these vaccinations and not have a bad reaction to them. Some vaccinations can be harmful for us. You also need to check into what preservatives are in the vaccinations. Yellow fever may have Squalene in it and can cause a person to have auto-immune responses to it which can cause you to become very sick. My husband was in the NAVY and he got the yellow fever vaccination. He became very sick from it and he is completely healthy. One of his troop members became so sick with joint inflamation that he had to be medically discharged. Just be careful and make sure that your rheumy gives you the OK to get these vaccinations. It may be safer for you to not have some of those vaccinations. Hugs
