Discolouration! Help!

Morning all!

I know that bruising and thinning of the skin is part of Lupus and the meds we take. I am on Prednisone, Plaquinil and MTX. I suffer severe joint pain and skin problems. Anyways, for about 4 days now I have been feeling chilly, which is weird, being menopausal! I also noticed the middle finger on my left hand has turned almost a blue black colour! Just that one finger! It is not as noticable when I wake up, but within an hour or so, she starts to darken. The skin feels a tad tight, not swollen badly. I don't see my Rheumy till the fall, should I call and mention this to him, or just play a wait and see? Sometimes I wonder what else this disease is going to throw at me!! (sigh) Anyways, any input would be appreciated.
Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks!

" Being that it's only one finger and it turns almost black, I definitely think you should call your dr asap. It's probably just Raynauds but better safe than sorry. And it's true - this disease will throw the kitchen sink at you all the time!

Take care. Hope the finger turns back to a beautiful color really soon!

Dale "

" It seems that if it was raynaulds they would all react and be more purple than black. It sounds more like a lack of circulation in the hands. Keep it warm and see if that helps. It sounds alot like Acrocyanosis, which isn't serious. Your regular GP could look at it and probably tell you what it is. "

" Back from Doc's. Turns out it is Raynauds. Was given a perscription for a cream(that has Viagra in it)! Anyways, it will cost me 247.00 bucks! I hope my insurance will help pay for some of it. She said if it does not help, and finger stays bluish black, to go to Emergency, could be a clot. Man oh man! Anywho, thanks again for your input! :) xox "
