" I have that problem too but it's not necessarily lupus. With mine it's peripheral neuropathy but others with lupus have complained about their feet like that. "

" oh my goodness!! i have just been diagnosed with lupus and am in so much pain but the thing that hurts the worst is the bottom of my feet. feels like i have been walking on fire hot pointy rocks barefoot. it makes it difficult to walk. sometimes it shoots up the back of my legs or through the bone up the front of my legs. this was so helpful, i know my family probably has thought i was crazy. I thought i was the only one. "

" I'm new to this site, but have been reading these blogs trying to get some information or insight into why my feet hurt so badly all the time! I too live in Crocs. I have a full time job and every time I try to wear cute shoes, I end up taking them off to put on Croc flip-flops. I'm panicking about the cold weather coming b/c the furry Crocs are NOT cute for work and not even close to as cushy as the flip flops. I have fibromyalgia but just feel like there's got to be something else wrong. My feet and calves THROB and feel very warm (not like walking on hot coals). The second they start getting sore, I know I have a pain flareup coming - which then causes anxiety. It's a horrible thing to be hurting so badly on the inside and no one on the outside knows it or feels sorry for you/understands b/c they don't see any physical difference in you.
Any thoughts on other conditions I may have? My husband swears I have Lupus, but I have been tested and it was negative. I did have a positive ANA though. Sorry for the long message- you can tell I'm dying to talk to someone.... :-) "

" My feet and sternum were the first places to give me pain. I was sixteen when the pain started...I was a waitress and going to school so they thought it was just because I was on my feet for so long. When I was 24 my big toe joint turned purple...omg it hurt!!! Looked I dropped a frozen turkey on it. When I got to a ortho he did scans...I had a rare type of bone tumor. They removed it and put a pin in my joint...tumor had eaten the joint away. When the biopsy came back it was autoimmune disorder. After that the feet started turning blue then red and then white...cold. Raynauds started...now burning has started. goes from feet to calves. wow it hurts. And yeah it feels like I walked on hot coals. My problem is I have to wear shoes...I work with horses all day and crocs just wont work. I wear good fitting boots...$125 for them ...ugh!!! I also use the gel things...they help alot too. In the winter I use a rubber boot that is neoprene...like what wet suits are made out of. They keep my feet warm and are actually really comfortable. They are expensive too. But a lot days at the end of my day I walk like a little china woman with bound feet. They just hurt!!
I am sorry you are going thru this too...hang in there.

" I can't stand anything on my feet either. wore sandals constantly. easy spirit makes a nice line of clogs and shoes. so nice on your feet. like walking on cotton. Naturalizer brand is another good one. I just wear thermal socks and my clogs now. My family wants to buy me uggs boots for christmas. They are so warm and comfy too. good luck hope you find something you like. "

" I have noticed my feet got worse, plus swelling of ankles since I was being weened down from Prednisone. I had to go back to 10mg. from 30 mg. I hobble when I get out of bed, burning sensations on the side of my feet and on top of the toe joints. Wearing shoes is getting harder all the time, by the end of the day, I am limping at work. I see my Rheumy in 5 days.......hope something can be done.
Take Care
Sylvie "

" Easy Spirit does have some nice shoes. I like the boots alot they are really cute. Comfort is key though because my feet and calf muscles cannot do heels. Thanks for the recommendation I noticed some of them do look really comfortable. "
