Celebrex

Hey ya'll,

I have not been on in a few days. I have been having horrible fatigue. I feel like I have taken a bottle of Benedryl.

My question is about Celebrex. I have gained 20 lbs in the past 6 weeks, and the only thing I have done differently is take Celebrex and Plaquinel. I have not been on steroids in 6 weeks. My pcp took me off of those and put me on Celebrex and Plaquinel. I have not eaten any differently. I try to eat very healthy. I am 3 years post gastric bypass, and this is devistating. I do not want to gain my weight back!!!!. I am very swollen, but not pitting. Although my hands were so swollen this morning that my coffee cup left indentions on my fingers for a while. Has anyone else experience weight gain with Celebrex?

" I'm currently on Celebrex and I've never gained weight from it.
Im gonna agree with Dallas2 and say it may be water retention. Maybe your doctor can prescribe you some diuretics. That may help. Comforting Hugs,
Niecy. "

" I am also on celebrex- and steroids but i would not know if it was the steroids or the celebrex as i stated taking both roughly around the same time- so could not say - but it has worked wonders with me.

" I went to the ER. I called my doc and they said to go. Everything is fine, but the ER doc said that celebrex can cause swelling around the heart and lungs in some people, and that I better not take it. Thanks all for the advice. I am home and fine. He gave me some tylenol 3. Thank the good Lord.

" Celebrex has never been a problem for me, but obviously it's no good for you. One of the side effects that can happen is fluid retention, so your doctor is wise to take you off them.

You do need to check in with your doctor if you get any more swelling, as swelling can indicate your kidneys are under pressure.

Celebrex only works for me with mild pain, I take Tramadol for strong pain (not often as it turns me into a space cadet!). Hope you find a pain reliever than works for you. "
