" Usually once the diagnosis of Lupus is made, most doctors will order Plaquinal. It is an anti-malarial drug that has been proven to lesson the symptoms of Lupus. I am on that and Prednisone(6mg). I have gained 60 lbs on it! I take Enbrel shots for my other diagnosis-Rheumatoid Arthritis. I take Celebrex which is an antiinflammatory. That helps with the stiffness. I am on Morphine and VicodinES also. Just for your info: People with Lupus shouldn't take Ibuprofen. It makes us worse. I would look online about it, I'm pretty sure that is where I read that. Or ask your doctor about it. Do you have a Rheumatologist? They would know. :) Cheryl "

" Hi there,

As stated above, most take plaquinal, without any issues. Depending on the severity they will put you on other drugs. Personally, I am on 22 meds a day. So if you have a name, we can let you know. Good Luck "

" I have been diagnosed with PA, not Lupus. I take methotrexate, xanax, folic acid, A&D, B Complex, C&E, zestril (for BP) and although the Pharmacist told me not to take Tylenol PM, I find it really helps me at night. Can anyone offer any advice on this? My regular Dr told me it contains Benedryl which is why it probably helps me. Benedryl has always seemed to help for some reason. "

" I have Cellcept (Mycophenolate Mofetil) 500mg Two twice a day. I also have Omeprazole, a gastro resistant so have no side effects . I'm currently down to 5mg of Prednisolone daily. (Plaquenil was stopped when Prednisolone was initially increased for the period that I was having Psyclophosphomide treatment for Lymphoma and vasculitis and has not been restarted). I'm on many less drugs than I was but have had no ill effects from any so far. "
