" Steph.

I have had this fatigue since I was about 15 years old. The mindset at that time was to "walk it off". I almost never went to the dr. when I was younger.. So, any kind of symptoms I've suffered with since childhood, I just figured it was normal and everybody felt that way. I could sleep for 15 hours straight, and when I awoke it seemed like I got 15 minutes.

I haven't found a way to combat the fatigue issue. I do have hypothyroid, which also makes me very hungry and very sleepy. I was diagnosed 4 yrs ago. It wasn't til' about a month ago that I visited an endocrinologist and he switched my meds, that I have felt any relief. Still occurs from time to time, but now it's a matter of making sure to get 8 hours of sleep at night.

I haven't been diagnosed with lupus as of yet. Still waiting for test results! "

" Not even coffee helped me. I just forced myself to power through which really isnt very good for you then I'd come home and sleep til bedtime then sleep until my alarm went off for work the next morning. Once the bad flare calmed a bit the fatigue backed down a bit. Its still there but managable now. So there is a little hope. Stay strong! "

" It is probably best to rule out all other possibilities. Have you checked with your doctor about this? There is a strong connection with Sleep Apnea. Have you ever had that checked out? Yes Thyroid is another. "

" Now, my main issue is overwhelming fatigue. Before it was pain in every joint except my spine (even my ribs/jaw, you name it) but now I struggle with only exhaustion.

It's really debilitating. I get so frustrated. My mind wants to do 1000 things and my body says "hell no we AREN'T doing that!"

sigh.

I cope by coffee, coffee, coffee, and then things with protein, like greek yogurt, lean meats. The better my diet is the better I feel, but that will only take me so far.

If I avoid foods like processed carbs and sugars and fatty dairy products, it helps too.

I also have to pace myself big time. Today I over did it b/c we have house guests and heaven forbid, anyone find me resting on the couch before 9pm. groan.

hang in there! "
