Afternoon,

AFter 4 chemo treatments of Cisplaitn and Alimta, and 33 radiations to chest area, am now 3 months after all treatment experiencing High Blood Pressure. I was normally like 80/60 during treatment, at this point as of last Thursday at my whitecoat visit, I was 148/94. Why? Has anyone else experienced this? Further I am on a antidepressent as well as an antianxiety pills. Thank you

" Hmmm. . . I thought it was just me. I had the same chemo therapy (but no radiation) as you and experienced the same thing. I can't say that chemo was the culprit, but my BP is normally on the low-normal side, and now seems to be elevated. I've blamed it on the stress, but maybe not. "

" Certainly something to think about, don't you think? My Oncologist asked what high blood pressure meds I was taking, hello, None. As Blood pressure has never been elevated. Thank heavens I am my very own patient advocate. "

" My mom always had low blood pressure, and hers skyrocketed, it was very strange. They gave her steroids to open her lungs which made the bp go up. THey should give you BP meds to make it go down. She was on antidepressants as well "

" Thank you Jen,

Hate to add another med, since I am already on as stated, antideppresant and antianxiety meds. Haven't a clue why I am so high, mayhaps it is my body in healing from surgery, chemo and radiation all together. I do not know, but what I do know I will grab the bull by the horns and make each day count as if it was my last. God bless "
