Hi everyone,
This is my first post and t looks like I have come to the right place to meet some really great people. My question is about my dad age 65 who has stage 4 adenocarcinoma lung cancer with a brain met. that was 90% removed in Feb. of this year. Had 5 total days of chemo. then the Dr. stopped it because it was to hard on my dad. Stopped chem in March. He has completed 39 radiation treatments on his lung and 3 radiation treatments on his brain where the tumor was removed. He has been for 2 weeks and is weak and tired. Today was the 1st day I got him to sit in the chair for a few hours. Do you think going through all this treatment is going to but him at more time? His Dr, will ever really answer that question when I ask him. I need to prepare myself for the future. Anyone that can enlighten me with their or their loved ones journey I would really appreciate it. God Bless All Smalltowndaughter Posted on 06/16/09, 09:06 pm |

First let me say that your father is very brave and so are you having to go through all this. My husband Robert was diagnosed with lung cancer in 8/2008. He was driving himself to chemo weekly until February 09. In the beginning of March 09, I noticed he was becoming confused and disoriented so I took him to the ER and he was diagnosed with met CA to brain. he never came home. He was started on intense radiation treatment and passed away 3/28/2009. Some doctors I believe have a difficult time giving a prognosis because no one really knows and everyone responds to treatment differently. My prayers are with you both. Christine
