I am new to the group but not the DS forum. I had renal cell cancer last year and had part of my left kidney removed, they have been monitoring my lungs as nodules showed up a year ago.
For the past few months I have been very short of breath no matter what I do, xray showed fluid on my lungs and my legs have been sweeling. I went to my lung doctor on Monday and had a ct scan done, it showed ground glass opacity and still the nodules.. I forgot to ask if the nodules had changed. The doctor is having me get a bronchoscopy to see what is going on. I do know if RCC spreads usually the first place is the lungs, which has been my concern. Any one else been told they have had ground glass opacity? From what I found it can be anything from an infection to cancer. Annette Posted on 06/14/12, 06:47 am |

My lung nodules have been referred to many ways over the years, opacity to calcified, etc. finally getting a bronchoscopy myself to correctly diagnose what is causing the partial collapse of the same nodule-affected lung. hugs, God bless and good luck. p.s., was your kidney affected by any cysts by chance? also, are you on oxygen now? ~peace~

yes, the problems in the kidney started out as cysts... they tell me the biopsy in the lungs showed to be relasping pneumonia..
