" Hi, Sunnie. I too have lung cancer. Mine has spread to my bones, making it stage 4.

You do not say how old your mom is or whether she intends to have treatment. There will be lots of determining factors as to what to look forward to, but the biggest is that everyone handles treatment differently. This means physically as well as emotionally. You will need to be strong, do some research on your own unless you intend to just follow the doctors orders with no questions.

I find prayer helps me get through the emotional side of it. Not that i haven't shed some tears, but at least its been managable. I am, so far, a nine month survivor since diagnosis. I have had 2 three week rounds of radiation for pain, once to spine and last one to left hip. Spine rad helped immensly, hip rad still questionable. I have also been doing chemo every three weeks since July '11. Sometimes im sick for 5-7 days afterward, sometimes no effect at all.

I hope you get some answers from the dr that are positive. I will be praying for you and your mom. "
