This is an issue that came between my boyfriend and I big time. We broke up and have recently decided to give things another shot. I always felt like he didn't treat me how I needed to be treated...never rude or anything like that...but just not making me a priority like I needed him to.
My only advice is to not put up with it. It just isn't worth it. If he isn't willing to shape up and compromise with you, there is someone out there that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated.
You are not asking too much, a partner should never be rude or talk down to the other. I would make it very clear how you expect to be treated, let him know that how he talks to you and treats you is not acceptable and don't tolerate it. You can't make him change, he'll only change if he wants to change and if he doesn't treat you how you deserve to be treated, you need to decide if that's the kind of relationship you want to stay in the rest of your life or not.
It seems that I am trying so hard to keep us together and happy. I don't like the distance either but for now this is what it is. I just feel that I am giving so much more and putting him and this relationship first..more than he does. I do love him. But I want to be talked to like he loves me and can't wait to see me. Instead of rude etc.
I just don't want to give up. 2 years is a long time.
Thanks again for responding.
Do you guys think, by all these actions, that deep down he wants to end this LDR? And just can't do it? Or want to hurt me? I just don't understand if he wants to be with me so bad, then why the rudeness, and not fight like crazy for this? I feel everyday, I am fighting for us not to argue and just have fun when we can. I know we can, when I go to see him, but then he,s not the same when I go back home. Any ideas? Is it me?
RADIATION LEVELS WILL INCREASE...
men don't change, if he is showing you loving kindness by being rude and insensitive...i think that might be an alarm that many women/men ignore.
Don't be afraid to let this one go. My God, there are so many wonderful men out there who will treat you and let's face it, everyone with loving kindness. It is a sign of maturity.
I'm sorry things aren't that great..but everyone is a lesson to get us to what we really want for our hearts.
I wish you many blessings and hope if you can communicate your feelings to him, that maybe he could change?....
