Need help and advice regarding COBRA health insurance. UHC says I can't do anything until XH calls and tells them we're divorced.

True. Until he gives his employer a conformed copy of your divorce decree COBRA doesn't kick in. But you can also supply the decree if its final.

This is true but they want to still obtain information from him. In my state medical insurance can be ordered for an extended amount of time after divorce. Also can get divorced without equitable distribution being completed and insurance would need to remain.
