I have tried everything from yogurts and lactaid to soy/rice-milk and just taking the diary and suffering later. I heard about Lactagen on the news. What's this about? Is this a possible solution to the problem?

Lactagen is supposed to get LI people no more have problems digesting dairy products...
Its seems to work - they even offer a money back garantee if it doesn't, and looks like thousand of people got cured with that thing. I got tested for ten years before it's release on the market, and since many people got cured, it seems to work... At least on a short time basis. I find it hard to believe that the body will learn to make the goods bacterias just by taking a product, and remember it forever after. If it forgot once, it could forget again... So it works, but I wouldn't put my hand in the fire that it's going to hold on forever...

I am definitely living proof, and after talking with the company after purchasing the product they said the longest case has been 12 years so far...I am going on 3 years and still symptom free so hopefully it'll last longer, but so far it has been wonderful. I'm not sure why most people don't know about it, or why they aren't well known. I guess it has just been a little kept secret, but they need to start getting the word out there because it really does work.
