I have KS and have been talking to my doctors and also doing as much research as possible. I have severe Asthma which medication is essential to treat it. Is what I am reading up to date that KS can also lead to Chronic lung disiease. I was not diagnosed with Asthma until 2001. There are many different web sites that pertain to the syndrome. Is there any updated information available for people to inquire on? Just want to be kept informed on any changes that may be of help.

My son had terrible asthma from the time he was very young. In middle school he started taking Omega 3 capsules. As recommended by a doctor at the time, he began with double the recommended dosage for the first two weeks. ( I think that was about 3,ooo mgs).
There were no ill side effects and he simply too 2 caps with every meal. Then after two weeks went down to 1,000 mgs. per day. He took the Omegas to help with his attention. And his attention and mood did get better. In fact, his reading scores went up dramatically. And his comprehension too. But the other thing that happened was that his asthma went away. Within a year, it was completely gone. I found out later that the Omega three oil has a good effect on all tissues of the body. It's good for the eyes, the brain, and lung tissue as well. I believe many KS guys suffer from asthma, which is caused by the rigidity of the tissue in the lungs. But the omegas help with this. My son is a 21-year-old now and the asthma has never returned.. Make sure you get a good brand that has been purified, so that it has no lead or other impurities. Hope you feel better soon!

I just wanted to comment on Lorains testimony about Omega 3's, I take them to help with my pain, and IBS, but when I got a bad yeast growth in my body the pharacyst recommended I increase my dosage, I take 4 1000 mg caps / day, I am a musician and singer and have difficulty with my sinuses and breathing at times.. but the last number of weeks I noticed that I am breathing better and my singing voice has less difficulty with reaching those difficult ranges. the Fish oils in these products are a good treatment for any condition that is affected by a lack of muccous...all our tissues are surrounded by this, and the joints and eyes and airways rely on muccous, It really helps my IBS I have been on Codeine for years and need to take products to stay regular... unfortunately they dont always work and I have had some nasty complications from poor bowel functions.
One newer study though showed that Omega 6 will interfer with the anti inflamitory affects of Omega 3's so I was advised to not take Om 6 suppliments, but to get them naturally in my diet. from grains etc.. I am glad to know that the Omega 3s have helped my breathing in this way. Thanks Rachel
