How to talk to friend about KS?

It was I who figured out my friend's KS with my professional genetic book. (I have training in a psychological field). I may be wrong, but he fits ALL the characteristics!
I like him VERY much, and we are good friends! I'd like a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, but he keeps it platonic. I don't know if it's me (personally), or if he has no true sexual feelings for anyone, because of the KS. He's had no other significant girlfriends before. He complains about lack of body hair, a little overweight, fatigue, and poor peer relationships, but doesn't seem to have an idea about possible KS. How can I approach the subject with him, without hurting his feelings terribly, or causing him to go into a severe depression? I'd love to have a closer, physical, relationship, but don't want to upset the situation & lose him as a friend, entirely! Posted on 10/19/07, 12:10 pm |

I told him about my suspicion about it. He said he'd already considered it, & just hadn't gotten around to having the test, yet.
Problem solved!

you should tell that to his parent or close family. hoping it is not too late for him to get threatment. In my case, no body knows what happen to me until i search the answer for myself. and it's too late. i just diagnose when i reach 32. so, consider tell him ASAP, in a best way.

I found out when I was 18 and enlisted in the Marine Corps. I had physicals before but they never seemed to notice my physical traits. The Marines sent me to 11 different specialists within a two week period. My arms were black and blue from all the blood tests. I was seen by some of the best doctors in Atlanta and it was confirmed. At first I didn't know what to think, I felt normal. I competed with all my friends and never had a problem, took AP classes in school, made straight A's, was strong, have tons of body hair, I'm also short and stalky. Pretty much every doctor says I don't fit the profile except for my chromosomes, underdeveloped gonads and low testosterone levels. I actually did not need T therapy until I was 24 at which point I did notice a drop in my energy levels. I can tell you that working out and staying fit does help that though. I've used that to balance the little bit of T therapy that I get from the gel. I now have plenty of energy and my stamina and sex drive has not been affected. Of course, I'm sure Klinefelters affects others differently. It can be a huge kick to the morale, both ways. On the one hand at 18, I was stoked that I had no swimmers. I even had girlfriends go off birth control. Now at 35, it sucks. I really want to be a Dad. I'm married to a beautiful woman and I see the kids my brother and sister have made and it breaks my heart. But as I've always said, it all happens for a reason. Its up to you and I to figure out what that is. If you do talk to him and he gets tested, you can point him in our direction and maybe we can help. I would recommend not treating him differently. That's the way I've always been. I still kick my friends butts at whatever we do, I'm always staying active and learning. My wife will tell you, I'm the most outgoing person she knows. I will talk to anyone, anytime and I make friends every where I go. So, don't let him use Klinefelters as an excuse. Have a great day, everyone!
