Kidney stone in left kidney last 2 years?

I have been told I have a stone in the left kidney for the last two years it has moved very little and doctor has not seemed too concerned, I have had pain in kidney area left side off and on for the two years but nothing severe. But doctor says I shouldn't be feeling pain with it still in the kidney.
I am not buying that!

Anyone else feel pain while the stone is still in the kidney?

I am going to see a urologist soon!!!

" I have had kidney stones for more than 40 years. Yes, I have had pain in the kidney area while a stone was still in the kindey. One was particularly painful and the doctor said it shouldn't be hurting if it was still in the kiodney. I went to another urologist. He sent me to lithotripsy-broke up stone-pain stopped. Most of the urologists I''ve been to will say that a stone still in the kidney won't cause pain. I disagree. Hope the stone won't cause too much pain. "

" I ALWAYS have pain when I have a stone. Ive had many. Lithotripsies and bucket retrievals have gotten them out and the pain stopped. "
