Ive been having some lower back and groin pain, it all started last month, then it all seemed to go away pretty quickly. Recently I started having waves of very painful spasms in my lower back, groin and sides, it comes and goes, and in between my sides ache as does my groin area. I had a kidney ultrasound a week ago and it was normal, as was everything else, how can that be???? could i still have stones? or could this be another problem all together

" Yes you can still have stones. Some stones are hard to see with ultra sound. Call your doctor and they should send you for a CT "

" I ended up in the ER last weekend and they are finally supposed to send me for a CT, but because I just had gallbladder surgery on tuesday they might do it later on next week. "

" I have just recently had two attacks of excruciating right side pain that radiated into lower back and lower groin area. Went to hospital and passed one stone, but after going home that day, had to go back again two days later to ER for treatment again. They kept me overnight and I had to see a Urologist to schedule surgery to remove a huge stone they found on a digital CT scan. The treatment is called "lithotripsy" and hopefully it will blast the huge stone into many little pieces so that I can pass them painlessly. A normal CT scan may not show kidney stones, but a digital CT scan will definitely pick them out so ask for that kind of scan. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. "
