I have never had kidney problems in my life. I am 53 yo. Two weeks ago I had frequent urges to go to the bathroom with only a teaspoon coming out and terrible pain at the end of it, with still having the urge to urinate with pain after I went. This went on for about an hour. I drank about a gallon of water, went the normal amount wihtout pain and things were normal from then on.
I have been having back pain for years. My primary care doctor just gave me exercises to do, which I have been doing and they havent helped. I have told her over and over about the pain and she didnt seem to think anything about it. The next day I called my urologist (I had had a complete histerectomy the year before and a bladder sling put in) adn she had me come in that day. They tested me for an infection and called me in a few days and told me it wasnt an infection and tol me to get a sonagrram, which I did. I never got a call about this. Last Friday I got a prescription in the mail to have a renal CT scan done with and without contrast. The doctor was closed that day. No call, no letter explaining why. I have been terrified. They dont open until Monday. I feel this was very crual but there isnt anything that I can do about this. What could this be about? I am so afraid it is cancer. I have been crying all weekend teriffied. Can anyone tell me if they have had this experience about CT's and why they had them? I need a little hope here. Thank you very much, Patty Posted on 05/03/09, 09:05 am |

It sounds like there might be a tweak in the tubes from the Kidney to the bladder. Although I'm not a doctor, but I can understand how upset you are. Keep after them though.
