Possible Stone

I am looking for some advice. I suspect I have or had a kidney stone. Symptoms started last Tuesday. I was getting over bronchitis but began having some pain in my lower rib area/low back whenver I coughed or took a deep. It wasn't bad, but felt like a "catch" for lack of a better description. Thinking it was the bronchitis, I called to get a breathing treatment ordered which did nothing at all.

Wednesday, the pain seemed to be below my ribcage, and for focused than the previous day. I would describe as a deep ache. It wasn't bad, but I began to wonder if perhaps it was a stone. I had it most of the day, but it would come and go.

Thursday, was the worst day. I woke nauseated and the pain seemed to hang with me most of the day. It still was not intense, but definitely uncomfortable. I called my doctor but he was out. The oncall doc told me to go to the ER. I didn't get done with work until 8 PM and by then the pain seemed to be better, so I didn't go... figuring I would get in with my doc the next day.

Friday I had discomfort off and on, but not as bad as Thurday...not that it was ever been real bad. So, I figured I was getting over it and didn't go to the doctor.

Saturday, I again awoke a bit nauseated with some discomfort. I was developing a pattern of hurting more earlier, and thinking I will go to the hospital if it doesnt get better by this evening. But then by evening it would not be so bad.

Sunday and Monday, I had some intermittent mild discomfort. Tuesday, I had no pain at all. Then this morning I woke up a tad nauseated again, and again have mild discomfort in my flank.

I have yet to seek medical treatment because overall the pain is not as bad, nor is the nausea as bad as when I first had it. I am wondering since the discomfort is in the same spot, could it be I have passed the stone and have residual pain? Would that start up again after the stone passed? Should I still seek medical care even though the pain is better, and was never awful?

Thanks!
Cheri
