I am a journalist and I'm working on a story on kidney stones for publication in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I'd like to hear firsthand a little about what it feels like to have a kidney stone. Would anyone be willing to talk with me for a few minutes by phone or e-mail?

Reply here or send me a message at sarapeach@yahoo.com if you're interested. Thank you so much.

" I live in Australia, but will tell you my partners story if you like. Den was very active growing up, and a high rise concretor when he passed his first stone. He thought he was going to die, went to a late night doctor who told him he had heartburn and to take some antacid. Couple of hours later we were up at the emergency room. Since 19 months then he has passed over 200 kidney stones (mainley small bits). He has seen numerous specialist, been tested for cancer, hyperparathyroid, sacoidosis, tuberulousis. He has been told that something is sending messages to break down his bone. But they can't find what is doing this.
He is on slow release pain medication (oxycontenate) Rhohipnol to sleep, anti depressents to help increase the effects of the pain medication and to keep him sane.
