well i just went to my eye doctors yesterday and he said that my left eye has gone downhill so much that i need a transplant asap. he said that the only reason i can see enough to drive, ride hores, and go to school is becasue my right eye is taking over... the only problem is that it is beginning to go downhill slowly too. i am freaking out! when school ends in may he wants me to come back and have the transplant right away. i really dont want to have it! im scared it will not work and my vision will be worse, or that it will hurt so much and be worse than the INTACs. any advice or help????

" Hi, have you discussed scleral lenses with your optometrist? I was told that I needed a graft but I went for a second opinion. I see a fabulous doctor and about 5 years ago he fitted me with sclerals and they have made a huge difference to my life. Might be worth a chat with him as these types of lenses can be fit to severe kc eyes as they dont sit on the cornea.

If you want any more info let me know or you can google scleral lenses and get a heap of info. "

" Werll the omly advice that comes to my mind is keep strong and know that you're going to be fine. I have an appt on the 26th to get fitted for contacts so I'm nervous about that. Keep me in your prayers as I will keep you in mine. Feel free to talk "

" You're post is a few months old so I'm not sure if you have had your transplant yet or not. I had a corneal transplant in 2001 and I am so glad I did! If you have any questions you can email me and I just started a networking site for those who have had or who may need to have a corneal transplant. If you are interested here is the link:
