" do you exercise? a sedentary lifestyle can contribute to this problem, i also have a friend who eats much less than me, she is obese, she is not even hungry, i was surprised i would starve with just one serving in a whole day...she does a lot of chorse and tends to her baby etc etc.. means more active then me (who have no family/chorse or babies to tend to), i can't believe she is that overweight ( i hate using that word f.t), although i exercise i started this month, 20 mins a day... i lost 6kgs , when i was under stress before i was diagnosed i lost 14 lb in just two weeks.... another thing did you have your tsh levels and tyroid checked? no offence intended but i'm a 'test ' freak means i like to have a lot of tests to be on the safe side. it could also be methabolism problem not sure...i would go to a doc if there is no explanation for my weight gain/loss... i hope i have been helpful... " I am a guy about 52 years old. I have very bad abdominal pain I think it is under the umbrella term IBS. I wish there was a cure but I don't know a solution. Please if someone can help me. I would be glad. I cannot eat at all or drink without pain. Vegetables help lots water and fish and oatmeal is my diet I have no energy no stamina constant pain. I take protonics and Bentle it does almost nothing to help. My GI DR. wants me to see psychiatrist but this is my DR's way to say my pain is psychological. My story is like yours cortextoom but you seem to be able to live with your health better than I can mine. "

" Pajama,

About 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with IBS & FB, and I just recently had a upper & lower (scopes) to rule out anything else..let me assure you it is NOT just in your Head...matter of fact I was actually diagnosed by my Chiro Dr., and a Nutritionist...and they put me on basically a Diabetic Plan - No sugar, No Wheat, No Gluten, lots and lots of water! No Dairy products like Cow's Milk - I drink Goats Milk, Cut out caffiene (so hard for me) but I did it...All I ate was veggies, (fresh & cooked) fruits, rolled oatmeal, brown rice (brown in pan before cooking) rice cereals. I can tolerate corn tortillas. Since my diagnosis I have lost 12 lbs...but I know it is because the change in my diet. I am just starting back to do more daily..I live on a farm and have horses, so I am slowly getting back up to speed..since I also have FB, it is difficult, but seems to under control for now. My scopes were clear - Praise Jesus! My Gastro Doc. put me on XIFAXAN to kill out any possible bad bacteria. I will take 6 pills a day for a month. I just started taking them so to soon to tell if helping. I do know also, it is very important that you get plenty of sleep at night and drink plenty of water. I went to a Health food store and purchased Rice Bread, when toasted is good..rice cereal, and even some oreo type cookies (have a little sugar not enough to bother me)..believe it or not, pretty tasty...I also drink lots of Hot Tea - the Peppermint helps me the best. I use Honey for sweetning. Find you a good nutritionist - she helped me more than any, and as soon as I am able I am going to switch to all natural in lieu of chemical. I know this is a lot of info, but making the changes have sure helped with this. I will be Praying for You! Don't Give Up! Nettie "
