Symptoms of IBS?

I was told a few years ago I have IBS. Now I'm having some different symptoms. I've had pain on the right side of my belly button for about 3 months. Sometimes the pain goes lower and sometimes it goes to the left or above my belly button. I had an abdomen ultrasound which came back normal. The pain at first would come and go now I seem to feel it most days. My BMs are regular tho a little thin. My Gyn. noticed tenderness on the right side and said he felt some hardness. I'm going to the GI tomorrow. Last night I ate some yogurt and 2 minutes later the pain on my right side really flared up. My Gyn. also doesn't think it's an ulcer. I saw him to rule out a problem with the ovary. Do any of these symptoms sound like IBS? thanks for any help.

" i get right sided pain-espeically near my period. It could be a gynae problem possibly? or appendix, have u had that checked?

Have u tried any tabs from docs? for years i was told i had ibs, im regular every morning, can eat any foods, tried elimination diets and they didnt have any effects.

my pain is right sided mostly, i also have bad period cramps and periods..it seems to be all related with me. When i push on my left its my right side that is sore. The pain starts in my pelvis and radiates to my belly button, all up my right side and into my legs. "

" after many years of having pain in my lower right side and then also the left, they have finally told me I have endometriosis-however, I haven't had the proper diagnosis. I still have pains every morning, while anti-spasmadics haven't really helped with the pain. I have been diagnosed early in the 90's as having IBS-D; my morning routine is anything but normal! I am in the bathroom from the minute I get up for about 3 hours afterwards; at which time I am usually doubled over in so much pain! It feels like there are aliens inside my stomach trying to come out!
The symptoms can often mimic other diseases/conditions and are different for everyone, but the most common symptoms of IBS are: (not limited to, and you might not have all at the same time)
Bloating and gas, abdominal cramping and pain, mucus in the stool, constipation, diarrhea-especially after eating, or first thing in the morning, urge to have a bowel movement immediately after having one.
Women tend to have IBS more often than men, but in more recent years; men are also getting IBS.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, you can always send me an email! I'll be glad to help in any way I can (and no, I'm not a doctor)! "

" I get pain like that pretty regularly. I learned the shape of the colon and realized that the pain I feel is from my colon. At one doctor's visit I was explaining the pain and after he physically examined me, he told me the pain was pretty much tracing the track of my colon. Most of my pain is on the left side though. "

" IF you have thin stools I suggest you have a colonscopy to check for polyps. I am sure your gastrologist is already thinking of scheduling you one if not already. "

" My husband has constant discomfort on his left side due to a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori. Have you had this checked? It is a bacteria that is hard to get rid of in the colon and can create ulcers. The treatment is 3 different antibiotics and Previcid, but my husband can't seem to shake it. He is going to Johns Hopkins in December to see what their specialist suggests.
