Hi, I'm new here. I'm 51 and going through menopause from hell! In july was diagnosed with ibs-d. Been taking align since then. It has help but I still get flare ups.I've been thinking about taking another probiotic with align. I would like to know if anyone is taking more that one probiotic and if it helps doing so. I'm kind of desperate here!!

" try some cereals like oatbix or kellogs bars i read they contain probiotics....instead of align i take laxatives because in my country they don't have that...you're lucky to take align they say it is very effective after some weeks...i feel at a loss when i am constipated, i can only eat little foods and limited to veg and fish otherwise i get backed up "

These are write ups on the probiotic that ONLY the above website makes and sells.
The one I use for my UC (VSL#3) and have been doing well when used with the natural anti-inflammatory products.

(Natural Anti-inflammatory products: D3, fishoil, Turmeric, R-AlpahLiptic Acid or R-ALA, (low carb, low dairy)basic/alkaline pH diet + probiotics reduce inflammation)

Best Wishes,

" My gastro specialist made me stop the Align and other probiotics. He told me with ibs-d it was making it worse. I now only use probiotics when I eat diary. I'm lactose intolerent and the probiotic settles my stomach down from the dairy.

In fact the gastro doc told me to try some deep breathing exercise to relax my reactions to stress, use Imodium when I had cramps and diahrea. He said there was no scientific proof that anything else worked on ibs-d.
Hope this helps. Everyone is so different. "

" I had trouble with probiotics, they made me worse, I have ibs-d too. I have been taking Metamucil capsules every night, takes about a week to get used to but it works wonders for me! Only had one flare up but it was because I ate something I shouldnt have. Im 25 and have had ibs-d for 6 years now. My GI dr told me to take 1/3 dose on bottle of Metamucil, but I only need 2 capsules. It says its a laxative but it works for both types of ibs bc it absorbs the extra water in your colon he said! Good luck and feel better "
