is it good to eat just vegetables, it seems other food triggers my ibs. even bread. some people say that eating vegetables is not enough even when eating lots of it because they are too low in calories and a person must eat 2000 per day, but if i eat that amount i get bloated, for 2000 cal a day you need to eat a lot for me.
i eat cereals too in the morning though and i add chicken breast or fish sometimes. it is true that veg are low in cal, i also exercise i gained muscle, but i lost almost 10st. i don't mind loosing weight but i hate having to eat food that don't trigger ibs, i take antispodomics but they don't always relieve pain in my case. when i have a flare i must take a lax otherwise i do rabbits. ok i have been talking abou this situation for long, but i wish i can find a solution to this ibs, it has worn my life.

" You need to have a healthy mix of everything at every meal. You can get cereals with protein in them, I prefer Kashi go lean mixed with some yogurt and some berries in the morning. Another great product to check out is called Salba. Salba is a whole food-so it has everything you need all in one tasty little food. It's looks and tastes similar to brown sugar and goes great on cereal.
As far as the spastic stomach goes, I know about that in great detail. I was trying an antispasmodic but it just wasn't doing anything for me. I suggest taking either peppermint oil just before eating or trying a product you can get over the counter at you local pharmacist called Iberogast. My doctor has been imploring me to try iberogast out for a few weeks now, I'm trying it and it's not all that bad. It is an herbal mixture you add to juice or water and it's supposed to calm your stomach down. This too you take just before you eat.
If you are like me and have major nerves in your stomach you should try fennel tea. I drink organic fennel and liquorice loose tea. Works great for anxiety and stomach related anxiety with IBS.
And for the bm's. I take a fibre supplement two times a day to keep my 'flow on the go' so to speak. No back ups or clogs. I go once a day and that's it.

Hope this helps! "

" hi thanks for your advice. exercise gives me more bms than a laxative, when i tried senna it didn't work, i went to exercise 20 mins on a bike, and the next day i had a good bm. I have all bran cereal, in the morning before going to work, i prefer to be a herbivor for the fear of ibs triggers, i remeber eating even pizza and bread, and after sometime i made myself sick because when i eat those they effect my stomach, and feel backed up, i talked to the doctor he said i should incorporate veg and fibre, i will also try fannel tea it seems that most pharmacies and groceries don't have this kind of tea, my symptoms get worse with periods, strange enough my period is light lately, i went to the gyn for checkup and all came fine. today my stomach is calm, when i get a bm usually i feel better....also with the worries about what to eat for ibs i lost 10 to 11 st in two weaks. " Have you taken many antibiotics in the past year or in past years? Also corticosteroids, like steroid cream, etc. These can all cause major problems for your stomach and digestive tract. I was told by my nutritionist, naturopath, and a few other doctors that I had an intestinal yeast imbalance (candida albicans) This can cause major IBS symptoms, both D & C. The reason why I ask this is because you are having sensitivities to bread and cheese. If you eat things like dairy, bread, sugar and alcohol they tend to make your symptoms flare up and even cause further complications like anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, fatigue, etc. "

" hi yes i have fatigue when i have ibs pain, doctors here do not check for food intollerance if you don't have an infection or malignancy they say ibs, when i talked about candida he said unlikely as he didn't find in the transvaginal checkup, he does ultrasound and pelvic exam. being on diet is tough but i got used to it now. before when i used to diet i used to do it for a short while and quit because i used to be called mrs twiggy not because it irritates me, i dont mind being on diet "

" thanks i will look the site, and try to find a nutritionist online, i wonder if there are some that are willing to help with no pay, in my country nutritionist work schedule clash with me, i finish work late so i don't have time to attend, it's not about money, since i work i can comfortably go to one and have her advice, they also have workout programs and their gyms, i have a small gymn at home, lately i had good bms, when i have rabbits i take senna, i take it only occasionally coz i'm lately only occasionally constipated but this week when i had rabbits i ate only veg, i read to be able to have a good bm you must take in a lot of food. " You may also want to look into digestive enzymes, I was told to start taking a full spectrum digestive enzyme because I wasn't digesting anything I was eating. I find that it can help to break food down better. Also--and I know it sounds simple, but try chewing all your food and eating slower, this helps. "

" I think looking at the w*ste you will notice what items your body didn't. Digest. The problem is carrots and fats. I will try a local pharmacy for a product. Does anyone have an. Idea why intestines gurgle so loud all the time I poo normally now that I am on a very low fat. Diet at night. They ramble so much that sometimes their sound is too audible to my parents to hear in the other room. Could it be I should go to a doc again? I have to get a flu jab this week and I can tell him about my problem at the same time then. My diet is cereal, fibre, fish, chicken breast, rice and veg, at times rabbit meat "

" Hi. I do nutrition and lifestyle coaching at college.

Vegetables are really good to eat they contain alot of viatmins and minerasl which your body needs. But you need to have a balanced diet.

Try to eat 6 small meals a day, instead of 3 larger ones. It will help your digestive system to cope and break down the food. Your digestive system should be constantly working, so smaller meals more often are better than larger meals 3 times. Eating little and often also helps maintain the matabolism.

Try wholemeal foods. Refined carbs such as white breads and white sugars, can affect many people that dont have ibs. so its best to avoid if possible.

Nuts and seeds are good, and contain fibre.

Hvae you tired fybogel? Im not sure what it would be called where you live. Its small fibre granules you add to water, this is soluble fibre that helps to releive constipation.

Try figs and prunes (really good aswell for constipation).

Drink lots of water and herbal teas.

Do you mean you lost 10 pounds?

i find that if i get constpiation, most commonly during menstration, i try to walk a little more a day. exercise stimulates the digestive system, especallialy running walking and riding a bike. "
