Magnesium and Constipation

Hey all,

Geez, never thought I'd type constipation in a subject line, but that's what you all are here for, right? LOL

Have any of you taken magnesium supplements? Generally they can cause soft BMs if you take too much, but I am wondering if it can have the opposite effect as well. Anyone have experience with this?

This was a recurrent problem for me until the last year or two, in which I've generally found if I eat enough veggies and ground flaxseed on my morning cereal every day I'm ok.

I'm also thinking I should be drinking more water, and I have been told that not enough water in combination with Primal Defense (a probiotic supplement I'm on) can cause this problem too.

Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

" Yes, that is usually the case for me too. After taking magnesium daily though for a few weeks things got really bad and I wonder what on earth happened. "

" Magnesium is what makes milk of magnesia work. It is also good for nausea. "
