sometimes i would like to go back to hospital, and get more tests done, but i feel like i'm a hypocondriac if i continue to bother the doctors... i can';t believe ibs can cause fatigue, i read some sites that chronic fatigue (described as a major symptom) symptoms needs evaluation, mainly because this can be from anemia or thyroid , diabetes... i tested those but nothing ! the tests are negative. if fatigue is from anemia definitely there is some internal bleeding going on...and this is common in the bowels (if there is an intestinal disorder which is serious) i had two cbcs this month, all clear..... well then i must conclude that it can be some ibs symptom, once you rule out things like anemia, thyroid disorders and diabetes, thank God a symple blood test can tell about your general health, and i included the ultrasounds so i won't have any doubt...
now being ibs c i don't have to run to toilets which is a reason that makes you fatigued most of the time, then i don't know ...does ibs c cause constant exhaustion? my hands are sore to add to this, cpk is normal, crp too and esr, but i think my hands r so sore because too many times i had my blood drawn, and maybe they are irritated...i can feel my muscles contract in my abdomen, it really is unconfortable!!! but tiring?? not sure this can cause fatigue and lack of energy ,, help! sorry for being too long!!! but i hope i can find somone here who is in my shoes! and we can chat on msn, my msn is graziella.borg@onvol.net thanks!

" Both types of IBS cause low energy. IBS with constipation results in too few calories being absorbed because the nutrient rich food spoils due to the long time in the gut. So as a result you feel tired. IBS with diarrhea results in too few calories being absorbed because the food exits the body before the gut can absorb the nutrition. Also alternating IBS switches between one IBS type and the other and also results in tiredness.

Best of luck with it. "

" yes my body especially if i press near the joints and neck are achy, muscles in the gut can feel cramping, bloating eased a bit and this is not a case when something like ovarian problem is going on have done 4 tvus one a month and finally a ca 125 all normal, i do sleep well, although fm presents with lack of sleep, although rarely i get up when my neck pain is severe, my back is achy too, i do eat i have a good apetite, no blood in stool, no vomiting and no fever. cpk is measured to see if there is muscle iflammation and mine is normal...thyroid is within tsh f4 t3 levels -that was done with a blood test i think this is enough to test the thyroid, or should i do any ultrasound for that?write back "

" does not present with lack of sleep. sorry i misspelled.. i don't have isomnia in my fm type of muscle pain, the pain is 'all in my head' doctors say, i done emg back when it started, he said that all is normal neuro test detected brain normal no abnormalties, mri is done only if a person shows obvious symptoms physical exam is a must before that only if a doctor decieds mri , it is done because it inolves the use of magnatic/rays etc which can harm the body....but i had a lot of ultrasounds....doctors give ultrasounds even to babies because it is safe i was told.....even for a mammogram, i had to do a sonomammogram, because actual mammogram is done whne a person is over 40 tha'ts their rule you can pay them but they woh't do any ct etc if they think it's not needed "

" Fatigue is part of this so called disease. As they say you have it either way with diarrhea or contispation. With diarrhea you get fatigue from going so much and not absoring the nutriets from the food, and constipation from the pain in your stomache for not going. Can't win with this. I also have had them do every test they can and I have found that just adds to the fatigue, especially any of the great tests like the Ct Scan and the colonscopy. Can only imagine they could find a better way to do that. Lets see you have diarrhea and now lets make you have everything dumb out of your system. Then you expect about two weeks to make it back from that. Come on there has to be someone out that that can help us!!!!! "

" yes constipation come with full bloating stomach and mild pain, i am fatigued most of the day i cannot drive because i have to try hard to concentrate when i'm tired as i'm tired most of the time, i did colonscopy and ultrasounds instead of ray scans because the doctor won't allow if there is nothig serious, they will only do an ultrasounds, a nurse told me that if ultrasound is abnormal then they proceed with ct scan, so i relly on that..but i saw them taking all information and measurements on all the abdomen like the uterus measurements, the ovaries volume and size, i also had smear tests and abdominal scans , blood tests and had checked my gall bladder in a scan, and they gave me the report which is all normal...tsh and t3 all normal...what more tests to do////???? I'M TIRED of all these tests..but at least i have my mind at rest that what i am feeling is something begnin like ibs and fibro, in fibro i did emg, esr, cpk neurological exams which were normal....when i asked about mri he said there is no need and i was relileved now it's 2 years fibro is so mild now.....haven't got any reoccurence bouts this year.... " if you are ibs c - then the waste from your food i still sitting in the colon and intestines therfor it will ferment and turn into alcohol and poinsins ( not as in deadly poisins just waste poisins) this in itself will cause major tiredness as your body is not ridding of the waste it needs to . i know i get very very tired after an ibs d attack and if i havent been for a few days im just as bad so yes fatigue does come from ibs and i get alot of this when i am playing up or in flare "

" hi thanks for your coments, i was thinking to do a clean prep, but when i asked my gi doctor he didn't recommend it to me....movi col doesn't rid of all the waste from the colon but only the 'waste of what you ate during that day' i can go for once or twice a day but only to do pellet or ribbon like stools, i searched on the net i will check if the pharmacist have colonix , then i will talk to my gi doctor in case i can use it i will buy colonix to clean my colon. " It's my belief that kombucha tea will help with this:

http://www.revolutionhealth.com/dr...

or the smaller url: http://tinyurl.com/olmqo9

From the article:
...when I was drinking it every day, my fibro improved so tremendously. I was more energetic, my weight stayed at 109# no matter what I ate.. my sister said that my fibro seemed like about a 75% improvement. It only took 2 weeks to notice dramatic differences in how I felt.

hope that helps. It's helped me with my IBS problems. Many people report that drinking a large (8-12 oz) glass of this will get things moving in the bowel.
