Hey, do any of you guys get symptoms with your IBS that aren't listed anywhere? When I get a really bad attack of diarrhea, it's often accompanied by severe nasal-type allergy symptoms, like phlegm, scratchy throat, and sinus pressure. Plus, I often have increased urination during my IBS attacks. My attacks are preceded, usually about 12 hours before, by what I think of as my "warning signs"--tighness in my abdomen, jumpy spasms in my central abdomen, sleeplessness, twitches and/or numbness in my hands and feet. When I get this, I know I'm in for fun the next day! lol
I think, too, that my phobia of nausea/vomiting (I get nausea with my IBS) causes panic-type symptoms: rapid heart rate, flushing, dizziness, shortness of breath, and shaking uncontrollably. Other people I know with IBS don't have the nausea, they just have diarrhea, as if they ate greasy fast food with MSG in it (this is how they describe it). And then they feel OK. Lucky them! After diarrhea I experience about 1-2 days of queasiness, cramping and loss of appetite. Can any of you relate? Posted on 06/27/09, 05:06 pm |

OMG I get every symptom you do! Including the shaking thing. I thought I was going crazy! I also get heart palpitations, which make me completely freak out (had it checked out---nothing is wrong with heart), it's incredible how bad IBS can really be.
