I was wondering if I could get some opinions on what kind of foods are IBS friendly. It seems like no matter what I eat I feel sick after. So I just eat whatever and deal with the pain. But it is getting worse. I am taking medicine but it only sort of helps I steal am in pain every day and cry every day.
I also have a bladder disorder that is affected by food so I am trying to find some kind of common ground between the two so I can lead somewhat of a normal life. I would really appreciate any advice on this matter. Thanks Tori Posted on 08/20/09, 02:08 pm |

Ok so what is safe for me might not be safe for you however i can tell u what i stay away from as a rule...
Red meat , brown chicken meat. pork sausage etc... dairy ( maybe try yoghurt milk and chese speratly and in small doses - i used to tolerate a tiny bit of cheese now im pretty crappy on any. I dont eat anything highly fatty shortbread biscuits for me a massive no go as is pastry coffee is my worst enemy as is alcohol. other things tend to be depending on wat kinda day im having - there is a diet i follow when im really really bad and to save me writing it all all try looking at helpforibs.com its pretty much the same diet xxx hope this helps

Google it: IBS Diets or BEST Diets for IBS. There is a wealth of info on the Internet!
Also, talk to your DOCTOR and/or a neutritionist about it. I stopped drinking milk and switched to soy milk; SILK is delicious. No ice cream, either. Mostly lots of vegetables and fruits and seafood! Over the counter ALIGN for IBS has completely normalized me also!

Foods that are milky and fatty and good seem to be bad for me. Also can not drink and soda at all.

try the south beach diet. or a gluten/casien free diet. (breads and milk) often people who have an intolerence to milk have a soy issue too. i had the opposite problem with soy than with other foods it backed me up and also screwed with my hormone levels. really noone should be eating soy unless its fermented. it has too much phytic acid and can block the absorbsion of essential nutrients if you eat too much soy frementation is the only way to lower this effect.it also has alot of plant estrogens and may be helpful if youre menopausal but if youre not id stay away. wives in japan who get too many sexual advances from their husbands up their husbands soy intake to curb their libido...
i use almond milk. and try to stay gluten free. one sign of a gluten intolerance is diarrhea. try it and see if it helps. it helps my 2 yr old.

I have IBS and IC (which is my bladder disorder) and the foods that are good for IBS conflict with the foods for IC. Check carefully if that's what you have. Good luck!

hi !
stay away from wheat, you can opt for 'spelt bread' and gluten free. and you can still have pasta but it has to be 'rice pasta' also stay away from dairies, opt for at milk, rice milk and maybe you can tolerate soy milk. also dont have cheese, there is also an alternative for cheese and it is minichol cheese, goats cheese and fetta. have protein, NO red meats, only chicken fish and turkey.. so fish also slamon etc. veggies are the best ! be careful with the typed of fruits you have.. nothing too acidic. mangos and paw paw also rock melon are all good. hope that has helped. a nice museli for breakfast is great add a ground nut mix to it

I stay away fromt wheat and my bloating completely disappears, as soon as I eat wheat the bloating comes back! someone told me wheat is acid forming and makes you retain fluid.
