New Medications

Hi everyone,

I was recently prescribed two new medications to try for pain:

1) Cetirizine 20 mg --- which actually has reduced my pain but it gives me a horrible headache alllllll day, and
2) Baclofen --- I took 5 mg once but I haven't taken it again because of some of the side effects it gave me such as chest pain, twitching and mood changes where I didn't want anyone to touch or talk to me... plus my throat felt tight... ya so basically I want to ask my doctor before I take it again

Have any of you taken either of these and if so, could you please let me know what your experience was with them? My doctors are concerned because my pain medication options are running out and they're considering nerve blocks :S... if any of you could also please let me know which medications worked best for you, I'd really appreciate it. For IC right now I am on:

Amitriptyline 100 mg, Uracyst bladder instillations bi-monthly, Elmiron 3 x a day, internal valium twice a day, lidocaine when needed, and the new cetirizine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

" I am on Librax for IBS. It has worked wonders for my IC pain. I read a discussion on the ICN that some people are given it for IC. Have you tried it?
You should talk to your doctor about this medication. I seriously have little to no pain.
Good Luck! "

" I've been on Norco and Oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I also take Urised when needed. About a year ago I was on Elmiron, but it was not helping. My uro took me off of it. My I.C. was diagnosed after about 25 years of having it so I think it's to far along for the Elmiron to help me. It may help others though. If you feel you need more help with pain, you could ask your doctor to send you to a pain clinic. It has helped me quite alot!! Do you end up in the E.R. from time to time? A pain clinic can help. "

" Thank you very much - I'm actually on a waiting list for a couple of pain clinics right now and I've been waiting for a long time. I haven't heard of Urised or Norco so will research them both. Thank you again! "
