I am not sure what do to anymore, or even
if this is in the right place. I have been running fevers nearly everyday since Dec. Since then I have had 3 or 4 utis. but even when the utis come back clear alot of times I am still running a temp my journal can be found at http://www.dailystrength.org/peopl... please comment any advice Posted on 07/01/09, 01:07 am |

I'm not sure if you have been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis or not but Fevers aren't generally a symptom of IC if that is what you are asking...
are your doctors sending your urine off to be cultured before they treat you for a UTI? sometimes IC patients can have leukocytes in there urine that can be mistaken for an infection so if you have IC there is no way to know for sure if you have a UTI until it has been cultured by a lab...

for some reason i was under that impression that IC meant uti.
100 for me is a fever.. anything past 99.1 i start to feel really bad and extremly tired

No Interstitial Cystitis does not mean UTI. You experience UTI symptoms but do NOT have a UTI when you have Interstitial Cystitis and fevers are completely unrelated.

Yep, we people with IC have the UTI symptoms without any infection whatsoever. i'm sorry to hear you keep having recuring utis. They symptoms are no fun at all. I hope you find a doctor that can help you figure out whats going on. Maybe you have some sort of underlying infection that isn't being treated fully and that is why it keeps coming back

Actually I run low grade fevers when I'm having the UTI symptoms, but no UTI. I have done this for years, it stays under 101, but just enough to make me have the chills and feel yucky. My uro told me fevers can be related to IC for some IC patients. Everyone is different.

I run fevers all the time with my IC, but I never have utis. I haven't really been able to get rid of the fevers. They're really irritating though. It helps me to sleep with ice packs some nights and take cool baths others.
