I dont eat much cake or cookies or candy on a daily basis. Every now and then though I do fancy some of it. This weekend, I ate homemade oatmeal raisen cookies and had a flare within hours of it. I am wondering if anyone has found any connection between sugar brown and white with flairs of their IC. the only other ingridents were flour, baking soda, baking powder, and oats and raisins. These are my favorite kind of cookies:(

" Rasins and prunes are acidifying believe it or not. Sugar is a culprit for ICers and a large trigger and is most of the process foods we eat.
Oats they are suppose to be good for you think again ICers Oats can trigger IC so I suggest you purchase gluten free oats.

All Icers should be on a low sugar-low grain /carb diet.

It isn't that we have allergies to gluten either it is the fact that sugar and grains are Acidifying and we can't handle eating lots of acidifying food.

To find a balance we need to eat 70 alkaline to 30 acidifying foods. If your having a flare you should hike it up to 80/20.

For some unknow reason our bodies make more of two different chemicals that cause us to be more acidic! "
