Hi everyone,

I've been on my 'safe' diet for a long time now that I'm starting to feel up to trying/testing some other foods. Are any of you able to eat any kind of beans without pain? Please let me know. Thanks! Also, I've been reading so much on people eating lemons with IC... really!? I tried lemon juice in something ONCE and screaaaaamed in pain... I'm so confused now cus I thought that citrus for ICers was completely out...

" I've been eating refried beans for years. I can't remember the brand name (it's a Mexican name) but we buy a can or two every month and use a tiny bit of milk to heat it up. I have never had problems with my bladder after eating this. Do you eat regular beans or refried beans and have problems with your bladder? If you like refried, I can find out the name of the brand we buy and will let you know. I hope you are having a good day! "

" I eat beans I am just sure not to eat them in spicy foods or in sauces. Baked beans bother me, chili bothers me........

Lemon is a citrus honey but once the body begins to break it down it turn alkaline which is the opposite of acidic.

These are the things that bother most persons who have IC.

When people tell you what you should or should eat ask them if they have been pain free and for how long.

Myself and large population of IC woman have had far less episodes since we adopted Physical therapy, decreased less stress, yoga, kept our weight proportion with our build and height, eat a dairy, gluten low sugar, low fat and low salt diet., little or no red meat.

Also take very little or no medication.

Let me tell you what I am having for dinner tonight.

Pan Roasted Apricot Teriayaki chicken breast.

I use skinless, boneless hormone free chicken.
Sugar free Jam (made in my bread maker)
Gluten free soy sauce
Almond slices
fresh garlic
fresh ground black pepper
canola oil

roasted potatoes with rosemary, olive oil, fresh parsley, garlic

and steamed summer squash.

I make my own gluten free bread........
Last night I made a grilled sandwich with portabella mushroom instead of a burger, cheese, tomatoe.......with some blue chips it was delicious.

If your ever looking for recipes or how to's ask and I will direct your or just go to my blog I have lots of links and resources listed. "

" I eat lots of Black Beans and I never have a problem... I eaither cook them myself with onions, carrots. Or I buy the canned ones without tomatoes in it. I also eat refried beans but never the ones with tomatoes in it. "

" I eat refried and black beans with no problem, just as long as there is nothing spicy with them. "

" I rather enjoy Pinto bean cooked in my slow cooker with preservative-free, nitrate-free, uncured bacon strips. When they are done cooking I make refried bean out of them. Delicious.
