Advice:
EXTREME pain in urethra!!
Watch this
View More Posts Ignore
i just got home from the doctors after having the Bladder Instillation done for the first time.
well, i constantly have horrible pain, especially in my urethra, and right now nothing will ease the pain (after i had the catheter placed in earlier today). i can't go the the bathroom or anything. ice isn't helping, and neither is the Vicoprofen i'm on.

it's impossible for me to even move right now. i was just wondering if its normal to have this extreme of urethra pain after having a catheter placed in? and also, is there anything else i can do that might help relieve the pain?

thank you all for reading this and for any advice!

" I have never had instillations but I did have a hydrodistention to diagnose IC and they put my out for it. But they used a catheter and when I woke up and came out of it I started crying. My doctor prescribed me Vicodin and I had to take more than the recommended dose for a week because of the pain but it helped keep the edge off. I am sorry you are in so much pain. I really hope you find some relief soon.

" Hi,
I had extreme pain after every bladder installation. I had a cycle of 8, had three weeks pain free, and then it all came back.

Uristat (over the counter)takes away that terrible urgency to go to the bathroom every minute. I used to use Vicodin.

A little more about the installations- if you have the ones with DMSO in them, you may reek of garlic. They told me at work that I stank and was sent home. I never got another treatment again.
