" I have had IC for over 10 years and tried every treatment out there, minus bladder removal. Ijust cut out wheat products from my diet and that has helped with the bloated, swelling feeling. I also watch my diet and drink wonderful water that has been through 6 stages from purification, thanks to my best friend.

I have done two trials of Elmiron, taken the allergy meds and cannot tolerate elavil. My urologist's wife happens to be his PA and she has helped me sooo much. I was going in there weekly for bladder installations, and we came to the conclusion that they just don't help me. She wanted me to get a pain pump, so I found a pain mangagement doctor over a year ago. Did not get a pump, put am currently taking MS Contin 60mhg twice daily, plus Soma as needed. He also "rediscovered" all my back and neck problems, and has helped with injections and other treatment.

I work full time (with great difficulty) and would not be able to do so without the pain meds. Unfortunately I never have a day without pain, but I am somehow surviving. I know this is a lot of info for your question, and to you and all of us IC sufferers I send my love and blessings. I just recently stopped eating wheat, so maybe that will help with your problems. At this point in my life, I will try anything that is safe for a little relief. Sorry to carry on, but hopefully I can help someone else.

Beth "

" I too have to wear loose clothing with my IC. I have found lots of loose dresses which are comfortable.(the tie -dye kind) The IC diet was really helpful and the baking soda in water for the pain. When the pain is really bad, I take Codeine 30 mg. or you can get over the counter Tylenol with Codeine which helps. My prayers are with you, this is a tough one, but you can have a life with IC. Love, isabelle1954 "

" wish I could give some advice to help. i have hurt so badly with this IC disease. swelling, bad lowerback pain, the works, but there is relief - when I watch the diet more especially when the flare ups begin. We with IC really are special, we keep going with a smile and cont. to hurt. "
