i was told the same thing from guys that were stationed there. that many were lined up to shake his hand when he got there but he wouldn't even touch them. and that all he did was get some pics of him holding a B-ball just for the press and then after the pics obama told the troops to get away from him. what the hell is that?!!

and like Georgia said, the guys surrounding him scare the hell out of me, too.

I have heard the same rumors as you all have about what happened overseas with him and the soldiers. My H has personally spoken to a few soldiers that were there and they tell the same story. To be honest, I don't know what to make of that. I guess I want to hear from his mouth what the reasoning behind that was. I do believe the did what they say he did. I just want to know why?

I am not sure of the people that surround the president. But as I have said many times, you have to give the man a chance. He hasn't been president for a full year yet and everyone is screaming fowl. He has four years to prove himself. If he doesn't then he will not be re-elected. I will be one of the ones who wont vote for him again. I am just sitting and waiting.

The question I want to know is how does anyone know if he visited a country using another countries passport? If you are speaking of his fathers country he can have a passport from Kenya, that is not illegal. When it comes to his birth certificate. By law they can not post his original birth certificate. Would you want yours out there for the world to see? I think not. It doesn't matter who a person is, they have some rights to privacy. Even the folks in the public eye.

Not speaking of his fathers country, Kenya I believe but his step fathers, some Island nation? I can't remember right off the top of my head and how did they know he traveled on it, there are records of where people go and how and later on when they get involved in things like politics these things tend to crop up.
If my life ever get's back on track I'll try to look up the information but right now I'm just about brain dead.

As to the advisor thing, many of us are not crazy about him haveing an advowed communint as one of his advisors (although I may have heard the guy quit or was fired but the fact that he was even there is troubling to me) and although I have some socialist leanings (like I believe no one in this country should go wihtout food or medical care) he has to many far leftys to make me comfortable and then there is the fact that so many of the very people who were neck deep in the shit that got this country into the economic crisis it's in now are working for him to fix the mess they made...there is no way in hell that even begins to make sense.

What is advowed? I have heard that they got rid of someone recently but I am not sure what the situation was.

And If he has put the people who put us in this mess in the position to help get us out, I can understand why. They know what they did to get us in this situation so they would know how to get us out. Plus, its like teaching your child to take responsibility for there mistakes and to make it right.

When it comes to his step father he was Indonesian. I have looked it up and called the a state consulate. They have said that it is impossible to travel on other countries passport if you are not a citizen. Also, President Obama has never traveled outside the country on any other passport except a us passport. I also asked him if the President have ever traveled to Indonesia. He said yes.He also said the purpose of his visit to Indonesia was to visit his step fathers family. He said the president traveled on a US passport.

Obama lived in Indonesia as a kid, went to school there but did so under a different name, his adopted name which is Berry something, and he did travel on an Indonesian passport, there are records of this and it happened when he was younger.
I am just not able to look all this stuff up right now but it is there.

As I always say, I don't believe anything unless all the facts are presented. I understand you said you read it somewhere but just as people have made stuff up so far, they have continued to do so. To be honest, it really doesn't matter what he did in the past, what matters is what he will do in the future. I will still give the man a chance. He is the president of the great country and that will not change anytime soon. If he proves himself a liar, then he will not be re-elected. I will be one of the first ones to stand in line to make sure he doesn't get re-elected.

hmmm- so its possible that he has dual citizenship? interesting

all of this scares me-

before all this birther stuff- before he became president i was worried- major league- for he was/is/has been prepared well to become what he is today- president- and i judged that on his speeches and watching him- he is just as smooth as some previous presidents- saying just the right thing- having just the right appeal-

but I WILL NOT participate in bringing him down- for i would be suspicious of someone who is a dual citizen myself- (this i would need proof of)

but i have never trusted the USA anyway

to me Bush Jr- his loyalty is to oil- money- and he sold us out

this one? i will wait to see what he does- so far i see nothing wrong- but of course i know i do not see everything- but time will tell.

In the beginning- i was afraid he was the Anti-Christ- but with all this opposition- for sure not! :)

And i know many may think me crazy for the Anti-Christ statement- me is nuts- but i have my belief and opinion on the matter- that is not

For i still look for the Anti-Christ to rule this country- maybe he has already went by? Me do not believe so.

As far as Obama's treatment of troops- i can believe that he did not acknowledge or shake the hands of some servicepeople

And- this would be like the first president ever to like not take pride in war

And to some that is treason- i laugh

I do not know his reason- and maybe he did not understand the need to give motivation or to personally support the soldiers out there with the photo shoots other presidents have done in the past

He is not a military man- and i doubt he understands it- and that... shows i believe.

All of this is scary and funny as hell to me.

People can and do serve their country everyday- here at home

Those who TAKE CARE of people by feeding, clothing them- helping them- is just as important as those who help by killing others

But i believe one does have to defend oneself sometimes with death- just i believe we - the USA have killed many unnecessarily over the years- and this war- is unnecessary.

For we have no right to democranize some one (demon rule)

We have no right to claim there are weapons of mass destruction- invade- not find them and STILL continue?- in the name of civilization? who asked for our help?

Anyway- this is interracial relationships- and we have just such a relationship when we are at war with people who largely consist of another race.

So it relates in a way- but there is more to the world- and we are to help each other here- though such talk causes much conflict....

Many people have duel citizenship but I wonder if they keep that if they move to another country and are adopted by someone there? I am pretty sure that all the kids who come to this country through the adoption process do not have duel citizenship.
Then there is the issue of him using two different names, one here Obama and another as an Indonesian citizen Barry whatever.
Deidre, I know you cannot alwasy trust what you read, but when there are such questions surreounding someone as important as the president of this country I sure as hell hope people are looking into it and not just ignoreing the whole issue.

As a military spouse and Brat, I know many people who have duel citizenship. Most have decided to live in America and keep the duel citizenship to honor the parent who is from the other country. I really don't have a issue with that. That is that persons own personal decision. If the president has duel citizenship, that is not against the law. If he used another name while living in another country as a child, I am sure that was not his decision. He was a child after all. The reasons his parents decided to do that who knows.
I believe the issue after all is who he is today and what he can do for the American people. Everyone has to admit that the man walked into a mess. He is the one who decided to take on the mess and try to fix it. I think we as the American people have to give him a chance to try. He has been in office since this past January. He cant fix every issue over night. It will take time. Just like it took time for others to put us in this situation it will take time for us to get out.
I do believe that we should question our leaders, after all its our responsibility to question them, they work or us. But questioning the decisions that were made for him as a child, I feel is pointless. He had know control over that.
At this point I am just waiting. Waiting to see if he will do what he promises. Waiting to see what he does for my daughter who needs medical care due to her mental illness. I am just going to wait. He has four years to win me over. If he doesn't, I will be at the front of the line to make sure he will not get another four years.
The fact is the man is president. That will not change for four years. Arguing about his citizenship ect.. will not change that.
The only thing we can do is watch and wait.
